Here are some good attack strategies I have found useful for the beginner looking for loot, all the way up to an advanced war attack.
Let's start with the basics. At lower Town Hall levels, you don't have the full range of troops others do at the higher levels. So, you'll have to make do with what you have. Here's the good news though; most of the best troops for raiding are the basic troops you get at the lower town hall levels! Giants, wall breakers, archers, barbs, and MOST important, goblins! Why most important? Each troop is very good in one specific area. Goblins get loot quicker than any other troop. They are cheap to make and fast moving. A very basic strategy is to use a combo of these troops.
I'll explain how. First, the troop employment. You want to use giants first. The first troop you put into battle and get inside the enemies defense range will be attacked. If you drop other troops after those first troops, the defenses will still attack the first troops you dropped before going onto the next set. So, if you use giants first, they can take a lot of damage while your other troops can go to work. After the initial use of giants, drop wall breakers needed to break into their walls and create a free path for the next troops. If they have motors, wait until the motor hits the ground before releasing the wall breakers (time it right basically), so they don't get taken out. Once that path is open, and resources available, release some goblins. About or before that time, spread some archers around the outside of the giants to start taking down their defenses. Spreading them works better than releasing all in one place because splash defenses like motors and wizard towers can quickly take down "groups" of troops quickly. Now, if you have healers, this is a good time to use them. Keeping those giants alive tpcan keep the defenses restricted while the other troops take everything out. Be cautious of the enemies air defenses though when using the healers or they may be short lived. If you have hog riders, use them after the giants to start taking down even more defenses.
That's a basic loot attack strategy that will work over and over again. Here are a couple great videos showing some of that. Put it into practice! You trying it and using it over and over will make you good at it. Soon enough you'll be keeping those builders of yours working full time and upgrading your base quickly .
